The main areas of interest of the 5,700 participants were agriculture, forestry, environment, cities, energy, construction, security, mining, logistics, sanitation, telecommunications and defense. The event brought together specialists, entrepreneurs, buyers of solutions from the public and private sectors of all kinds, as well as service providers

The DroneShow, MundoGEO Connect and SpaceBR Show 2023 took place from May 9th to 11th at the Frei Caneca Convention Center, in São Paulo (SP), exceeding all expectations.

This year, the events took place on two floors for the last time, as in 2024 they will be held from May 21st to 23rd at Expo Center Norte, in the capital of São Paulo, in a much larger space, measuring 9 thousand square meters.

A highlight of this year’s event was the international presence, with representatives from 30 countries, 15 of them from Latin America. There were delegations from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela, as well as Angola, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Canada, China, United States, Spain, France, Germany, Guinea-Bissau, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Portugal and South Africa

There were more than 30 activities, including courses, seminars, forums, and special events, which brought together more than a thousand participants.

Including visitors to the exhibition, the event brought together more than 5,700 professionals from the sector, most of them representing companies that use products and services, such as cooperatives, rural producers, municipalities, reforestation, construction, mining, energy and telecommunication utilities, and also state and federal public institutions, as well as entities linked to security, defense, logistics, and transportation.

The main highlights in the program were those related to the use of drones in spraying, inspections and mapping, and the uses of geospatial technologies and information in the environmental area, carbon credits and city management. In the forums, discussions were intense about the market and regulation of drones, on-board technologies and airspace control. Two forums were held in a pioneering way in Latin America, focusing on technological and regulatory challenges and commercial opportunities in the areas of eVTOL – popularly known as flying cars – and autonomous mobile robotics.

The event also featured business rounds in the space sector and presentation of pitches by selected startups from the drone and space sectors. In partnership with the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB) and MundoGEO, the International Italo-Latin American Organization (IILA) held an event for the heads of member space agencies.

At the exhibition, the highlights were the companies, offering a multitude of drones of different models, sizes and applications, as well as a lot of embedded technology. In the area of services, the highlight were companies that provide solutions from terrestrial, aerial and orbital data collection, as well as distributors of equipment that obtain data with high precision, robotics companies and even equipment to support agricultural activities such as energy generators in the field.

Besides the drones and geospatial technologies area, the space sector surprised and had a very strong growth compared to the previous event, in 2022, both in visitation and in the number of exhibitors, highlighting the companies that represent the sector’s productive chain, formed by launchers, satellites and the countless companies that provide solutions.
